Belmont Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Highways Operative to work with our client based in Gateshead. This is a full-time role working 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Overview:
The role holder will be responsible for carrying out a range of highways maintenance works, including repairs, improvements and general upkeep of highways infrastructure.
Main Duties:

Carrying out highways maintenance works including tarmac repairs, resurfacing and reinstatement works

Undertaking kerb laying, footpath repairs and flagstone laying/repairs

Completing general highways repairs and maintenance tasks to a high standard

Working as part of a highways team to deliver works safely and efficiently

Operating hand tools and equipment relevant to highways works

Ensuring all work is completed in line with health and safety procedures

Supporting with general highway improvement and maintenance activities
Essential Criteria:

Previous experience working within a highways environment

Full UK driving licence

Experience and knowledge of all aspects of highways work, including tarmac, kerb laying, footpath repairs and flagstone laying/repairs

Experience using relevant tools and equipment

Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Good understanding of health and safety requirements
