Account Handler – Commercial Insurance (Property Owners)
About the Role
We're looking for an experienced and customer-focused Account Handler to join our growing commercial insurance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building strong client relationships and managing a portfolio of property owner clients, providing expert advice and exceptional service throughout the insurance lifecycle.
You'll work with clients whose annual insurance premiums typically range from approximately £1,500 to £30,000, handling renewals, mid-term adjustments, claims support and insurer negotiations to deliver the best possible outcomes.
Key Responsibilities

Manage a portfolio of property owner insurance clients with annual premiums ranging from approximately £1,500 to £30,000, delivering a high standard of service.

Prepare and issue renewal invitations 2–3 weeks before renewal dates, carrying out market reviews and re-broking exercises where appropriate for property owner clients with premiums ranging from approximately £1,500 to £30,000.

Build and develop relationships with existing clients while identifying opportunities to retain and grow accounts.

Prepare accurate market presentations and negotiate with insurers to obtain competitive terms.

Handle mid-term adjustments efficiently and accurately.

Review policy documentation to ensure accuracy before issuing to clients.

Support clients throughout the claims process, ensuring a positive customer experience.

Maintain accurate client records and ensure all FCA and company compliance procedures are followed.

Assist with other office duties as required.
About You
You'll ideally have:

Previous experience as a Commercial Account Handler or in a similar insurance role.

Experience dealing with property owners' insurance or commercial property portfolios.

A good understanding of FCA regulations and commercial insurance practices.

Cert CII qualification (or be actively working towards it).

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Confidence dealing with insurers and clients over the phone and by email.

Good IT skills and experience using insurance broking systems and insurer extranets.
