Administration Assistant - Primary School

Salary: £19,000 - £20,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent | Hours: 32.5 hours per week, Term Time Only | Start: September 2026
Veritas Education is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming primary school in Bury for an experienced Administration Assistant to join their busy school office.
This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and friendly administrator who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and providing excellent support to pupils, parents and staff.
The Role
As the first point of contact for the school, you'll provide a professional reception service while supporting the day-to-day administration of the office.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing online payments for school meals and trips.
Providing administrative and financial support for wraparound care.
Answering telephone calls and dealing with parent enquiries.
Welcoming visitors and managing reception.
Maintaining accurate records and completing general administration.
Supporting the Headteacher and Office Manager with daily office duties.
Using Microsoft Office, including Excel.The Ideal Candidate
You will have:
Previous administration experience, ideally within a school.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Good ICT skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel.
The ability to prioritise work in a busy environment.
A positive, flexible and proactive approach.
