Job Summary
An opportunity for an experienced Multi-Trade Operative to join a national property maintenance and refurbishment business delivering planned repairs and maintenance across residential properties.
Working within occupied and vacant homes, you will carry out a range of maintenance, repair, and improvement works to ensure properties remain safe, compliant, and maintained to a high standard. The role requires a customer-focused approach, working independently and as part of a wider maintenance team.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out plumbing repairs and minor plumbing installations.
Undertake carpentry and joinery repairs, including doors, locks, kitchens, flooring, and general woodwork.
Complete a wide range of general building maintenance and multi-trade repairs.
Diagnose faults and carry out effective first-time repairs where possible.
Deliver planned maintenance works within agreed timescales.
Work safely and in accordance with health and safety procedures.
Maintain high standards of workmanship and customer service.
Communicate professionally with residents, clients, and colleagues.
Record completed works using handheld digital devices or mobile job management systems.
Ensure vehicles, tools, and equipment are maintained in a safe and serviceable condition.
Support colleagues across multiple trades where required.
Maintain clean, safe, and organised work areas at all times.
Person Specification
Qualifications & Experience
Experience as a Multi-Trade Operative within property maintenance, housing, facilities management, or construction.
Practical experience in plumbing and carpentry repairs.
Experience working within occupied and void residential properties.
NVQ Level 2, City & Guilds, or equivalent trade qualification desirable.
Full UK driving licence.
Willingness to undergo relevant pre-employment security and background checks where required.
Skills & Knowledge
Strong practical knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
Ability to diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs.
Good understanding of health and safety requirements.
Experience using handheld devices or digital job management systems.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
