We currently have a vacancy for a Travel Systems Assistant to join our Travel Systems Team.
The Travel System Team manages and updates the Your Next Bus Real Time Passenger Information (RTI) system for the Combined Authority, as well as supporting the system across the greater Yorkshire region. The team is an integral part of ensuring that passengers have accurate and timely information on street, via web pages and at bus stations, to help facilitate their travel throughout West Yorkshire and the greater Yorkshire region.
The work supports RTI outputs which include on-street displays, bus station displays, third party apps and web site pages. This is done for the seven major bus service changes per annum, plus ad-hoc and seasonal variations/ event service changes to fixed deadlines. We also work to other regions' service change dates.
Wider teams within the Combined Authority rely on this role for responding to customer queries and the delivery of large-scale projects, from on-street displays to bus station refurbishment projects.

The Role
Reporting into the Travel Systems Manager your key responsibilities will include:
· Manage the operation and maintenance of the RTI system covering the whole of Yorkshire (West Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority, South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority, City of York, North Yorkshire, Hull City, East Yorkshire and beyond).
· Liaise internally with various teams on the support and maintenance of RTI elements, such as on-street displays and bus stations.

You will have the following key skills, attributes, education and experience:
· Knowledge of bus operations terms and procedures.
· Experience of prioritising, effectively planning and delivering projects, recognising the importance and urgency of tasks to achieve delivery targets.
· Educated to A-level or equivalent relevant education/ experience.
· Practical experience of successfully performing in a similar role.
· Ability to investigate, interpret and analyse information efficiently and accurately.
