About the Role:
Vocational Recruitment is working in partnership with a welcoming and well-established SEN school in Southwark to recruit an experienced School Administrator for a full-time, long-term position starting in September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and professional administrator with previous school office experience and a strong working knowledge of SIMS. You will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the school, ensuring administrative processes run smoothly while providing a warm and professional first point of contact for pupils, parents, visitors, and external agencies.
Experience working within a special educational needs (SEN) setting is desirable, although experienced school administrators from mainstream schools with excellent SIMS knowledge are also encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the school reception and act as the first point of contact for parents, visitors, and external professionals

Maintain accurate pupil records, attendance, admissions, and safeguarding information using SIMS
-
Process daily attendance and follow school procedures for absences

Handle telephone, email, and face-to-face enquiries professionally

Support admissions, annual reviews, and pupil records administration

Prepare letters, reports, and school communications

Maintain confidential records in accordance with GDPR and safeguarding requirements

Provide administrative support to the Headteacher, SENCO, and wider leadership team

Carry out general office duties, including filing, scanning, photocopying, and ordering supplies
Requirements:

Previous experience working in a school office

Strong working knowledge of SIMS (essential)

Experience in an SEN school is desirable but not essential

Excellent organisational and administrative skills

Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to prioritise workload and remain calm in a busy environment

Professional, compassionate, and approachable manner

Understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding, and data protection within an educational setting
