About the role
We are looking for a Food Safety & Quality Manager to join our Omagh site, which employs around 100 people and produces high-quality dairy products, including ice cream, cream, custards, and syrups enjoyed every day.
In this role, you will be part of the Site Leadership Team, reporting to the Plant Manager, and leading a team of 4 people while collaborating closely with the Global Quality function. You will be responsible for driving and continuously improving Food Safety, Quality, and Compliance (FSQ) standards across the site, ensuring all products meet customer, regulatory, and internal requirements while promoting a strong “Safety First, Quality Always” culture.
This is a full-time, onsite, temporary maternity cover contract starting at the beginning of September for a duration of 1 year.
Key responsibilities
1. Food Safety Leadership
Lead food safety strategy and maintain GFSI, HACCP, and FSQ standards.
Support risk management and manage food safety incidents.
Contribute to site strategy and align key stakeholders.
2. Compliance and Regulatory Assurance
Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and product requirements.
Lead audits, inspections, and customer visits.
Manage certification programmes including ISO, FSSC, Halal, and Kosher.
3. Continuous Improvement
Monitor FSQ KPIs and drive improvement initiatives.
Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Partner with cross-functional teams to enhance performance and efficiency.
4. Customer Focus
Act as the primary FSQ contact for customers.
Manage complaints, investigations, and incident communications.
5. Team Leadership
Lead, develop, and coach the Quality team.
Manage recruitment, performance, engagement, and budgets.
Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Qualifications and skills
- Min. 5 years’ experience in Quality Management within food manufacturing or similar environment
- Previous experience managing teams
- Solid knowledge of food safety systems, audits, and regulatory requirements
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders in a matrix organization
- Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
- Excellent communication skills and customer focus
