Role Overview
We are looking for motivated and practically-minded Production Operatives to join our client's manufacturing team. This is a hands-on role focused on the use of hand and power tools in a production environment. No formal trade qualification is required, what matters is your attitude, aptitude, and willingness to learn.
This role suits individuals who enjoy working with their hands, take pride in quality workmanship, and thrive in a team-based production setting. Full training will be provided on our processes and equipment.
Key Responsibilities

Operate a range of hand tools including hammers, screwdrivers, spanners, pliers, chisels, and measuring equipment

Operate power tools including drills, grinders, circular saws, jigsaws, and sanders safely and effectively

Read and follow work instructions, drawings, and production schedules

Assemble, fit, and finish components to specification and quality standards

Carry out basic measurement and marking out of materials

Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area at all times

Conduct basic quality checks on completed work and identify defects
-
Report faults, near misses, or safety concerns to the supervisor

Work as part of a team to meet production targets and deadlines

Assist with the receipt, handling, and movement of materials as required
Essential Requirements

Comfortable and confident using hand and power tools in a practical environment

Good attention to detail and commitment to quality

Physically capable of standing for extended periods and performing manual tasks

Able to follow written and verbal instructions accurately

Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player

Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different tasks

Basic numeracy skills for measurement and counting
Desirable (Not Required)
No trade qualifications are necessary for this role. However, any of the following would be beneficial:

Previous experience in a production, manufacturing, or workshop environment

Familiarity with basic engineering or construction materials

Experience operating specific power tools such as drills, grinders, or saws

Forklift truck licence or counterbalance experience
Pay & Grading Structure
Pay is graded according to demonstrated ability and experience, assessed at interview and during an initial trial period. Grade placement will be reviewed regularly as skills develop.

£15.46 per hour
Proficient – works independently, strong practical skills

£17.78 per hour
Skilled – high ability, experienced across all operations
Working Hours & Conditions

Standard hours: Monday to Friday day shift. 07:30-16:30 with a 13:30 finish every Friday

Overtime available subject to production requirements

PPE provided — steel toe-cap boots, gloves, and eye protection required on site
