Overview
We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Industrial Operative to join our Boarding Department within a busy manufacturing facility. This role involves working with timber, sheet materials, and pre-fabricated wooden components to support the production of high-quality frames and structures.
This position is ideal for someone who is practical, detail-oriented, and confident using hand and power tools in a workshop environment.
Key Responsibilities

Measure, cut, and prepare timber and sheet materials using tools such as tape measures, circular saws, and drills

Assemble wooden frames, panels, and structural components in line with production drawings and specifications

Operate machinery and equipment safely, following all training and site procedures

Carry out boarding, cladding, and finishing tasks to required quality standards

Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring materials are stored correctly

Work efficiently to support production targets and communicate any issues promptly

Conduct basic checks on tools and equipment, reporting any defects or maintenance requirements

Follow all health & safety procedures, including manual handling and PPE requirements
Skills & Experience

Previous experience in a manufacturing, joinery, or workshop environment (desirable)

Confident using hand and power tools, including drills and circular saws

Ability to read measurements and work accurately to millimetre precision

Strong practical skills and attention to detail

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, production-driven environment

Physically fit and capable of manual work
