Learning Support Assistant – Autism Support | Havering RM11 |
Are you passionate about supporting young people and helping them overcome barriers to learning?
We are currently recruiting for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a student with SEN within a welcoming mainstream school in Havering (RM11).
This is a rewarding opportunity to support a young person aged 16–19, helping them develop academically, socially, and emotionally while building confidence and independence in a school environment.
The Role:
You will work closely with the student, teaching staff, and wider support team to provide tailored support that meets their individual needs.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a student with Autism

Support learning activities and help the student engage in classroom sessions

Assist with personalised learning plans and encourage progress

Support emotional wellbeing and social interaction

Work alongside staff to monitor progress and development

Provide personal care support where required
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Experience supporting children or young people with Autism, SEND, or additional needs (desirable)

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

A patient, compassionate, and proactive approach

The ability to build positive relationships with students

A genuine passion for helping young people achieve their goals
