New opportunity for a Surface Preparation Operative (Masking) to work from engineering drawings to mask metal aircraft components prior to spray painting and/or surface treatments, then de-mask components post-treatment. This is a full-time role over 4 days per week, with every Friday off - a genuine work-life balance perk. Full training can be given.
Key Responsibilities
Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical requirements to identify areas to be masked.
Mask metal components accurately prior to spray painting, coatings, and surface treatments.
De-mask components after treatment, handling parts carefully to avoid damage.
Ensure all work meets quality, regulatory and specification requirements.
Follow all health & safety procedures and PPE requirements.
Support housekeeping tasks including clean-ups on chemical leakage/spillage when required.
Qualifications & Experience
No previous masker experience required - full training provided.
Aerospace treatments / paint / metal finishing experience is advantageous but not essential.
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths, with the ability to read technical documentation/drawings.
