Learning Support Assistant
We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and resilient Learning Support Assistant to join our specialist SEMH/SEN provision supporting pupils aged 11–16.
This is a long term temp to perm position.
About the Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to support pupils both academically and emotionally. You will play a vital role in helping young people develop confidence, resilience, self-regulation, and the skills they need to succeed.
You will:

Support pupils within lessons and throughout the school day.

Build strong, positive relationships that promote trust and engagement.

Help pupils overcome barriers to learning and achieve their individual goals.

Provide academic support across a range of subjects.

Promote emotional regulation, wellbeing, and positive behaviour.

Support personalised learning and intervention programmes.

Encourage independence, confidence, and self-esteem.

Contribute to a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
We Are Looking for Someone Who:

Has experience working with young people, particularly those with SEMH and/or SEND needs.

Understands that behaviour is often a form of communication.

Is patient, calm, and emotionally resilient.

Can remain positive and solution-focused in challenging situations.

Has excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Is proactive and willing to use initiative.
