An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated EYFS SEND Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive and nurturing specialist educational setting in Wickford.
This permanent role involves supporting young children within the Early Years Foundation Stage who have a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping pupils access learning, develop communication and social skills, and achieve their individual developmental targets within a caring and structured environment.
The Role
As an EYFS SEND Learning Support Assistant, you will:
Support children with SEND on a one-to-one and small group basis
- Assist in delivering engaging learning activities tailored to individual needs
- Encourage communication, social interaction and emotional development
- Work closely with teaching staff to implement personalised learning strategies
- Help create a positive, inclusive and nurturing learning environment
- Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teaching staff
- Support pupils with daily routines and promote independence wherever possibleThe Ideal Candidate
Has a genuine passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
- Has experience working with children with SEND in an educational, care or similar setting
- Demonstrates patience, empathy and excellent communication skills
- Is committed to helping every child achieve their full potential
- Works effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Has a proactive and positive approach to supporting learning and development
