About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and organised Assistant SENDCo to support the SENDCo in delivering high-quality provision for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
You will play a key role in ensuring students receive the support they need to succeed, working closely with staff, families, and external professionals.
Key Responsibilities

Support the SENDCo in managing and delivering SEND provision across the school

Help coordinate support for students with SEND, including EHCP processes and annual reviews

Line manage and support Learning Support Assistants (LSAs)

Assist with exam access arrangements, including assessments and applications
-
Maintain accurate SEND records, provision maps, and student plans

Work with teachers to ensure inclusive teaching and effective interventions

Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies

Support student progress, attendance, and wellbeing

Deliver small group interventions and Functional Skills (Maths & English where required)
What We’re Looking For
-
Experience working with children or young people with SEND
-
Good understanding of SEND processes and legislation (or willingness to learn)

Strong organisational and administrative skills
-
Ability to work collaboratively with staff and external professionals

Confident communication skills (written and verbal)
-
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
Desirable:
-
Experience with exam access arrangements
-
HLTA status or relevant SEND qualification
-
Experience managing or supporting staff
