Property Claims Handler

Salary £25,500 - £32,000 DOE
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Property Claims Handler to join a growing and fast-paced team. This role is responsible for managing property claims from initial notification through to final settlement, ensuring a high standard of service and strong client outcomes.
You will play a key role in delivering a seamless claims journey, maintaining excellent stakeholder relationships, and ensuring all claims are handled in line with industry best practice and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a portfolio of property claims end-to-end, from first notification to settlement
Communicate effectively with clients, policyholders, contractors and insurers
Coordinate the appointment of contractors and ensure all required information is provided
Review technical information to assess policy liability and validate claims
Analyse reports, estimates and site data to support decision-making
Negotiate claim outcomes and settlement values where appropriate
Prepare clear, accurate reports for insurer review and decision-making
Challenge reports and scopes of work when necessary to ensure fair outcomes
Ensure all cases are progressed within agreed service levels and timescales
Handle incoming queries professionally and in a timely manner
Build and maintain strong working relationships with all stakeholders
Continuously identify opportunities to improve processes and service delivery
Ensure full compliance with relevant legislation, FCA requirements, and internal policies
✅ Skills & Experience
Minimum 2-3 years' experience in property or general insurance claims
Strong understanding of insurance principles and claims handling processes
Knowledge of property damage claims and industry best practices
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Highly organised with the ability to meet deadlines and targets
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Professional qualifications (e.g. Cert CII) are desirable
Desirable:
Experience with subsidence, drainage, or underground services investigations
