Quarry Operative

Salary: £34,207 – £36,000 depending on experience
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 5:00pm, with every other Saturday 7:00am – 12:00pm as required
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Quarry Operative to join a busy and fast-paced quarry operation based in Hamer Warren. This is a hands-on role focused on ensuring safe, efficient and cost-effective production across the site while maintaining high operational and health & safety standards.
The successful candidate will support the daily running of the quarry, operate processing and mobile plant equipment, and assist with planned maintenance and housekeeping activities across the site.
Key Responsibilities

Daily operation of quarry and processing activities to ensure efficient production output.

Operate and monitor the processing plant safely and effectively.

Operate mobile plant equipment to feed processing plant hoppers and maintain production flow.

Carry out planned maintenance and routine housekeeping duties across the site.

Operate weighbridge systems and maintain accurate records when required.

Monitor production conditions and equipment performance to maximise operational efficiency.

Adhere to all site health & safety policies, procedures and safe systems of work.

Support the team in maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.

Work flexibly to support operational requirements and production targets.
Requirements
-
Previous experience within quarrying, extraction, aggregates, recycling, heavy industry or similar operational environments.

Good understanding of quarry operations, material processing and production activities.

Awareness of health & safety procedures associated with quarry or industrial site operations.

Mobile plant operating experience preferred, particularly Loading Shovel operation and feeding processing plant hoppers.

Experience with LGV loading would be advantageous.

Reliable, proactive and safety conscious approach to work.

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Good communication skills and ability to build positive working relationships.

Flexible attitude towards working tasks and hours to support operational demands.
