Learning Support Assistant - Stafford - Part Time - Start Date: September 2026
We are currently recruiting to appoint a SEN Learning Support Assistant to join one of our partner primary schools from September 2026 onwards in a long-term role on a part-time basis working through a trusted supply agency. This role is vital to the school and involves supporting a vast range of children with varying needs including working alongside children with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP's). The school are particularly interested in candidates who have a background in supporting children with Speech and Language, ADHD, Autism and SEMH.
You will be working within a friendly, welcoming school atmosphere where you will quickly become a valued member of the teaching team. You will be working directly alongside the class teacher and as a Learning Support Assistant you'll be encouraged to "follow your own lead" using your own initiative and skills to enhance the quality of teaching and learning for the children.
The Role includes:
Having a calm, patient and proactive approach in order to support a range of pupils with varying needs.
Have the ability to build effective relationships with multiple staff members, external professionals and most importantly the students.
The ability to relate in a firm and friendly way with a wide range of personalities.
Using your own initiative alongside being willing to undertake direction and guidance.
Being motivated to work with children with special educational needs and to motivate and inspire.What we are looking for:
An experienced Teaching Assistant/Learning Support Assistant who shares a passion and drive for supporting pupils across the primary age range.
Holds NVQ Level 2 for Teaching Assistants (or above).
Paediatric First Aid Qualification (desirable).
Have both high expectations of themselves and pupils; pushing the children to grow and flourish within the class.
Has a genuine passion and interest in supporting pupils' academic and personal development.
At least one year experience working with SEND children in the primary age range.
You will be working on a temporary basis through a supply agency within a long-term role.Pay: £93 - £100 a day (dependent on experience) holiday pay is included in the day rate.
