Job Title: Senior Procurement Engineer – Capability Insertion (Value)
Location: Warton, Hybrid – 3 days per week on site minimum
Travel: International travel would be 1-2 times per year + UK travel every couple of weeks which sometimes may require overnight stay – Expenses would be paid.

Job Description:
You will support the delivery of new and upgraded equipment across a diverse supplier base, ensuring value‑for‑money outcomes aligned to programme and customer needs. You will coordinate procurement activity across development and redesign programmes, negotiate pricing and contractual terms, and support the integration of new capability onto the aircraft platform. Working closely with Engineering, Programme and Commercial teams, you will help shape requirements, monitor supplier performance and maintain procurement governance throughout the lifecycle.
Core duties:
- Support strategic procurement activity across allocated equipment and suppliers, ensuring alignment with programme requirements and value‑for‑money targets
- Deliver cost‑effective solutions by contributing to programme reviews, tracking budgets and purchase orders, and identifying opportunities to reduce cost or improve commercial outcomes
- Negotiate contracts, pricing and commercial terms, resolving queries and ensuring agreements support programme delivery
- Monitor supplier performance and associated risks, supporting the delivery of key equipment and development programmes
- Build solid supplier relationships and collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Engineering, to support on‑time delivery and lifecycle compliance across capability insertion activity
Essential Skills:
- Experience in pricing negotiations, cost‑saving activity and delivering value‑for‑money outcomes, including negotiating contractual terms and conditions and applying procurement language confidently
- Understanding of supplier risk maintenance and supply chain resilience, with the ability to identify, monitor and mitigate risks across development and production environments
- Experience operating in multi‑faceted programme environments, with the ability to interpret data, propose value‑driven solutions and present clear recommendations while partnering effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience in development or redesign procurement, including early lifecycle procurement for new or modified products, supporting requirement definition, pricing activity and contract placement for capability upgrades
