Our client is looking for an ambitious Assistant Buyer / Junior Buyer who genuinely lives and breathes buying. This role is ideal for someone already working at Assistant Buyer or Junior Buyer level who wants more ownership and exposure. It is not a merchandiser role — our client needs someone who is knowledgeable in buying, product development, supplier management and making sure everything moves smoothly from concept through to delivery.
Assistant Buyer / Junior Buyer
Salary: £28,000 - £40,000 DOE and knowledge in the sector
Location: Outskirts of Redhill (must be a driver)

The Role
The Assistant Buyer / Junior Buyer will support the Buying Team across the full product lifecycle, working on products direct to retail for shelf and floor display. This is a busy, hands-on role that requires strong organisation, excellent attention to detail and the ability to keep multiple priorities moving at pace.
You will be liaising daily with suppliers, raising purchase orders, managing critical paths, checking samples, arranging testing and inspections, and working closely with Sales, Design and Logistics to keep orders progressing smoothly. You will also track deliveries, monitor shipping and customs clearance, and help ensure all product information is accurate and compliant.
About You

3+ years’ experience in a buying, assistant buying or junior buying role.

Experience with Far East suppliers, retail customers or sea freight is essential.

A genuine passion for buying and career development in this area.

Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.

Confident communication skills and a proactive, team-focused approach.

Strong Excel and MS Office skills.

Desired experience with shipping via Sea Freight
