We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Specialist to work across SEN schools in Sheffield, supporting students with a range of special educational needs including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, and communication difficulties.
The Role
As a Behaviour Specialist, you will play a key role in creating a safe, supportive, and structured learning environment for pupils who may display challenging behaviours. Working closely with teachers, support staff, and external professionals, you will help pupils develop emotional regulation, social skills, and positive behaviour strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Support pupils with behavioural, emotional, and social needs
Implement behaviour management plans and de-escalation strategies
Build positive relationships with students to encourage engagement and progress
Work collaboratively with teaching staff and pastoral teams
Provide 1:1 and small group interventions
Promote a nurturing and inclusive learning environment
Monitor and record student progress and behaviour
Requirements
Experience working with children or young people with SEN and/or challenging behaviour
Strong behaviour management and communication skills
Calm, resilient, and empathetic approach
Ability to build trust and maintain professional boundaries
Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, youth work, or behaviour support are desirable
Team Teach or other de-escalation training is advantageous
