Position: SEND Support Assistant
Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire
Contract Type: Full-Time (Term-time)
Working Hours: 08:30 - 15:30
Rate of Pay: £90.00 - £110.00 per day
About the Role:
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEND Support Assistant to join a specialist provision in Leeds. In this role, you will support students with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including learning difficulties, autism, and physical disabilities. Many students require tailored support both in the classroom and during school activities.
As a SEND Support Assistant, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support for students with SEND.
- Assist with classroom tasks, personal care, and mobility where needed.
- Help implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and provide tailored support to meet students' learning needs.
- Promote engagement, independence, and inclusion for all students.
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, and care staff to deliver a holistic approach to student support.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, autism, or learning difficulties (desirable).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- A patient, compassionate, and adaptable approach to supporting students.
- Willingness to assist with personal care and mobility tasks where required.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the dignity of vulnerable students.
To be eligible for this role, you must:
- Hold Right to Work in the UK.
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate (or be willing to apply).
- Provide two professional child-related references covering the last two years.
