Behaviour Support Assistant
Location: Rochdale
Contract: Full-time, long-term
Start Date: Immediate
We are recruiting for a confident and resilient Behaviour Support Assistant to work within a secondary school setting. This is a rewarding role for someone who can build strong relationships with students and support positive behaviour across the school.
You will work closely with pastoral staff, teachers, and senior leaders to help students remain engaged, regulated, and ready to learn. The ideal candidate will be calm under pressure and able to respond to situations professionally and consistently.
Requirements:
Experience supporting young people with behaviour, SEMH, or pastoral needs.
Strong de-escalation and relationship-building skills.
A calm, resilient, and confident approach.
Ability to work effectively as part of a wider safeguarding team.
Enhanced DBS clearance or willingness to obtain one.
Key responsibilities:
Support students with behaviour and engagement in lessons.
Work closely with pastoral and safeguarding teams.
De-escalate situations calmly and effectively.
Encourage positive choices and attendance.
