Pyrotechnic Assembly Operative
Chalgrove | £27,500 | Permanent | Days
A globally recognised aerospace manufacturer in Chalgrove is looking for an Assembly Operative to join its pyrotechnics team. You'll be assembling cartridges and rocket motors for aviation safety systems - precise, regulated work with explosive materials where there is no margin for error and no shortcuts. Every task is carried out strictly to engineering drawings and work instructions. If you're not comfortable following technical documentation to the letter, this role isn't for you.
What you'll be doing:
Assembling pyrotechnic components exactly to engineering drawings and work instructions - precision and accuracy are non-negotiable
Using weighing equipment and specialist tooling to achieve precise tolerances
Handling explosive materials safely in strict accordance with mandatory procedures
Identifying part numbers, drawing issues, and batch details accurately
Maintaining and monitoring tools and equipment to ensure safe operation
Updating SAP to record work in progress and maintain full traceability
Ensuring all work meets quality standards and explosives compliance requirements
Contributing to housekeeping and maintaining a clean, safe working environment
What you need:
Production or manufacturing background
Proven ability to read, interpret, and follow engineering drawings precisely - this is essential, not desirable
Strong attention to detail and ability to work to tight tolerances without deviation
Understanding of H&S policies and procedures
Basic IT and SAP skills
Good communication skills and a proactive approach
GCSE grades D–G or equivalent
Experience with explosives or pyrotechnic assembly is beneficial, but full training will be provided to the right candidate. What cannot be trained is the discipline to follow technical documentation exactly as written - that must come naturally.
What's on offer:
£27,500 per annum
Days: 08:00–16:45 Mon–Thu / 08:00–12:00 Fri
Strong benefits package
Genuine progression opportunities
Specialist training in handling and assembling explosive materials
Long-term stability with over a decade of secured contracts
This is a permanent position with a respected name in aerospace manufacturing. The work is detailed, regulated, and safety-critical - suited to someone who takes real pride in doing things properly, every time.
