Production Assistant – Day Shift
Location: Alton, Hampshire (GU34)
Salary: £29,(Apply online only) – £31,(Apply online only) per annum
⏰ Hours: Monday – Friday, 05:45 – 14:15 (Day Shift)

About the Role
Conquip Engineering Group is seeking a reliable and diligent Production Assistant to join our Day Shift manufacturing team in Alton. This hands-on position is based within a busy workshop environment, working closely alongside welders, painters and the wider production team to ensure daily output targets are consistently met. Previous manufacturing or workshop experience is advantageous, but a positive attitude, reliability and a willingness to learn are just as important.
Key Responsibilities
Build and assemble steel skips and fabricated components
Move materials and parts around the workshop and yard
Support weld and paint teams to maintain smooth production flow
Load and unload the paint line and apply product decals
Prepare finished products for despatch
Assist with unloading and moving laser cut components
Support press brake operations for larger fabricated parts
Operate forklifts and overhead cranes to transport materials and finished goods
Contribute to yard and workshop maintenance
You will be on your feet throughout the shift, working collaboratively to meet daily production targets.
