Junior Purchasing Assistant (Part Time)
Temporary to Permanent
£14.80 per hour
Monday to Friday | 10:00am - 3:00pm
We are currently recruiting for a Junior Purchasing Assistant to join a busy and growing business on a part‑time, temporary‑to‑permanent basis. This is a varied administrative role supporting the purchasing, operations, sales, and warehouse teams.
Full training will be provided, including use of a bespoke operating system.
Key Responsibilities
Administration
Answering inbound calls professionally and efficiently
Responding to internal and external email queries daily
Assisting with booking couriers as required
Providing pricing and quotations to the sales team
Supporting the operations and warehouse teams as needed (including pallet labels)Supplier Acknowledgements
Managing incoming supplier acknowledgements daily
Checking supplier acknowledgements against purchase orders
Querying any discrepancies or issues via email
Checking FSC status and pricing, highlighting any variancesOrder Management (M1 System)
Updating and maintaining the outstanding order book daily
Ensuring supplier delivery dates align with scheduled install dates
Updating order due dates based on supplier acknowledgements
Managing and escalating late delivery notifications
Liaising with suppliers and internal teams to meet delivery schedules
Becoming a confident and competent user of the M1 systemSupplier Invoicing
Assisting accounts with invoice and pricing queries on the systemOrder Processing
Processing sales and purchase orders
Amending orders as required
Producing picking sheets
Setting up new product entries when necessarySales & Purchasing Support
Maintaining accurate sales and purchase order history
Researching and sourcing local suppliersGeneral Duties
Maintaining a tidy and presentable office environment
Managing office supplies and consumables
Providing ad‑hoc administrative support across the business
Weekly fire alarm and fire extinguisher checks
