The Role
We are currently recruiting for a Caseworker Assistant to join a busy SEND Assessment & Review team within Children’s Services. This is a fast-paced administrative role supporting caseworkers to ensure statutory processes are delivered in line with legislative requirements.
You will play a key role in supporting the delivery of services for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), working closely with families, education providers and partner agencies.
Key Responsibilities
Provide administrative oversight of SEND processes, ensuring compliance with legislation
Support caseworkers with the coordination of annual reviews and EHC needs assessments (EHCNA)
Prepare panel agendas, take minutes and manage follow-up actions
Issue reminders and track statutory paperwork and deadlines
Maintain accurate records and support data quality on the Management Information System (including Liquid Logic/EHM)
Log new requests and update case management systems
Act as a point of contact for queries from families, schools and professionals
Process invoices via Agresso for approval
Work collaboratively across Children’s Services and with external partners
Support service improvements and contribute to team objectivesAbout You We’re looking for an organised and proactive administrator who can manage competing priorities in a structured and efficient way.
Essential:
Strong administrative experience in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Experience working with databases or case management systems
Ability to manage workloads against strict deadlines
Confident using Microsoft OfficeDesirable:
Experience within SEND, education, or local authority settings
Knowledge of EHCP processes and statutory timelines

This role sits within Children’s Services and requires an understanding of safeguarding responsibilities. All work must be carried out in line with council policies, procedures, and customer service standards
