Talent STEM are partnering with a well-established industrial organisation operating within the recycling and materials processing sector. The business is known for its strong focus on safety, operational performance and delivering reliable services across a range of heavy industry markets.
Due to continued growth, they are now seeking a Production Operative to support site operations and material handling activities on a temporary to permanent basis. Applicants must hold a valid Counterbalance FLT licence to be considered.
The Opportunity
This is a hands-on role within a busy industrial environment, supporting a range of yard-based and processing activities. You will be working both indoors and outdoors, contributing to the safe and efficient movement and processing of materials on site.
This position offers an initial temporary period with a clear pathway to a permanent role for the right individual. Full training will be provided, with the opportunity to develop skills across different areas of the operation.
Key Responsibilities

Carry out general yard duties within a recycling and processing environment

Support material handling, sorting and preparation activities

Operate machinery and equipment following training and site procedures

Use hand and power tools safely and effectively

Operate a counterbalance forklift truck to move materials

Assist with loading and unloading vehicles

Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment

Adhere to all health, safety and environmental standards

Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet operational targets
- Support additional site requirements, including occasional travel if required
About You
We are looking for a practical and reliable individual who enjoys working in a physically active role within an industrial setting.
You will likely bring:

Previous experience in a yard, recycling or industrial environment

A valid Counterbalance FLT licence (Need to have)

Experience operating machinery or using cutting tools

Good physical fitness, including the ability to lift and move materials

A flexible approach to working hours and duties

A strong awareness of health and safety
Working Hours & Shifts
This role involves a shift pattern, including day and night shifts. Standard daytime hours are Monday to Friday, with additional shift requirements scheduled in advance.
