Finance Assistant
Part-time | 14 hours per week (flexible) | £13.99 per hour
Location: Fife (office‑based, Kirkcaldy)
We are recruiting a Finance Assistant on behalf of our client within the third sector, to join their Finance and Administration team on a part‑time basis.
This role is ideal for someone with finance or bookkeeping experience who is looking for flexible hours and the opportunity to support an organisation delivering meaningful, community‑focused work.
About the Role
The Finance Assistant will provide essential support to ensure accurate financial records are maintained and day‑to‑day finance processes operate efficiently. Working closely with the Accountant and wider team, you will play a key role in the organisation's financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
Processing financial transactions using accounting software
Allocating transactions to the correct cost centres
Preparing fortnightly payment runs
Reconciling bank accounts and petty cash
Posting journals and maintaining general and nominal ledgers
Supporting the preparation of monthly financial reports
Maintaining accurate and well‑organised financial records
Querying invoicing or transaction discrepancies with suppliers
Placing routine procurement orders
Providing general administrative support, including responding to enquiries and scheduling
Providing cover for front desk when requiredAbout You
The successful candidate will:
Have experience in a finance, accounts, or bookkeeping support role
Be confident using finance systems and Microsoft Office
Have strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
Be able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Communicate clearly and professionally
