Job Title: Court of Protection Paralegal (Health & Welfare)
Salary: £26,000 - £35,000 (DOE)
Location: Watford (Hybrid available)
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
We are looking for a driven and empathetic paralegal with experience in Court of Protection work. The role offers exposure to a broad range of Health & Welfare matters, including Mental Capacity Act proceedings, with the opportunity to manage your own caseload and develop your expertise within a supportive team environment.
Main Responsibilities:

Managing a caseload of Court of Protection matters, including s.16 and s.21A MCA 2005 proceedings

Supporting solicitors on a range of Health & Welfare cases

Liaising with clients, experts, and the Official Solicitor

Drafting legal documents, correspondence, and preparing bundles

Conducting legal research and preparing case summaries

Managing client files and maintaining accurate records

Attending and assisting with hearings and client meetings
Essential Skills and Experience:

Minimum 1 year’s experience in Court of Protection (Health & Welfare) work

Strong knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and relevant case law

Legal aid experience (advantageous)

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
