Care Assistant
Location: Wareham
Pay Rate: £16.80 per hour (via umbrella)
Shift Pattern: 09:00 to 16:00, Monday to Sunday
Contract Type: 1:1 package of care
We are currently recruiting an experienced Care Assistant to support a 1:1 package in Wareham for a female client living with dementia.
This is a community-based role, so we are looking for someone who enjoys getting out and about, supporting people to remain active and engaged. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential for this position.
This package is currently covered by two regular carers, and there is also the potential for the role to develop into a live-in package in the future for anyone who may be interested.
The role will involve:

Supporting the client at home and out in the community

Promoting independence, emotional wellbeing and daily routine

Providing practical and emotional support

Managing and appropriately de-escalating behaviours that may challenge

Following care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures

Working closely with the wider care and clinical team

Maintaining professional boundaries at all times
What we are looking for:

Previous experience in a care or support role

Experience supporting people living with dementia

Confidence working on a 1:1 basis

A calm, compassionate and proactive approach

Strong communication and observational skills

A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
