Job SummaryThe Warehouse Operative is responsible for the safe, accurate, and timely execution of warehouse activities that support production, inventory control, and customer delivery requirements. The role includes receiving, put away, storage, picking, packing, shipping, stock movement, and cycle counting, while ensuring compliance with site safety, quality, and inventory control procedures.
The Warehouse Operative is expected to maintain high standards of accuracy, housekeeping, and transaction discipline to support operational performance and inventory integrity.
Key Duties and Responsibilities2.1 Receiving and Put away
Receive incoming materials and verify quantities, identification, and condition against delivery documentation
Unload and move materials using approved manual handling methods or authorised material handling equipment
Complete receiving transactions in the relevant ERP, WMS, or scanning system
Store materials in designated bin locations in accordance with warehouse layout and control requirements
Identify and escalate damaged, mislabelled, or nonconforming material2.2 Material Storage and Control
Maintain correct storage of materials in line with product, quality, and traceability requirements
Ensure bins and storage locations are clearly identified and organised
Segregate damaged, quarantined, rejected, or nonconforming inventory in designated areas
Maintain inventory security and report any stock concerns or irregularities2.3 Picking, Issuing, and Internal Material Movement
Pick materials accurately for production, internal customers, or outbound orders
Verify part number, quantity, unit of measure, and lot/serial details where required
Deliver materials to designated usage points or staging areas in a timely manner
Support replenishment of production lines, point-of-use locations, or supermarkets as required2.4 Shipping and Dispatch
Prepare outbound shipments in accordance with packing, libelling, and documentation requirements
Complete shipping transactions and maintain shipment accuracy
Support carrier collection and shipment staging processes as required2.5 Inventory Accuracy and Cycle Counting
Perform cycle counts, stock checks, and inventory verifications in accordance with site procedures
Record count results accurately and report discrepancies promptly
Support recounts and variance investigations when required
Maintain transaction discipline to support inventory record accuracy
Assist in inventory control improvement activities and root cause resolution2.6 Safety, Quality, and Housekeeping
Comply with all EHS, quality, and warehouse operating procedures
Wear required PPE and operate equipment safely and only when trained and authorised
Follow site rules for forklifts, pedestrian walkways, lifting, storage, and rack safety
Maintain clean, organized, and audit-ready work areas in line with 5S expectations
Report unsafe conditions, near misses, incidents, or quality concerns immediately
Qualifications and ExperienceRequired
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
Experience in a warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, or material handling environment, or ability to demonstrate transferable skills
Basic computer literacy
Ability to read and understand labels, part numbers, work instructions, and shipping/receiving documentation
Ability to perform basic numerical calculations for counting and verificationPreferred
Forklift or material handling equipment experience
Experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting
Knowledge of inventory control, cycle counting

Ability to work in a warehouse and/or manufacturing support environment
Required to work shifts 6-2pm,2pm-10pm, overtime, or weekends based on business needs
May be required to operate forklifts or other equipment if trained, certified, and authorised
