Role Overview:
South Tyneside Council is recruiting Waste Operatives to support its environmental services team. This role is essential in ensuring waste collection and disposal services are delivered efficiently while maintaining high standards of cleanliness across the local area.
Key Responsibilities:
Assisting with the collection of household and commercial waste
Loading and unloading waste collection vehicles
Ensuring safe handling and disposal of waste materials
Maintaining cleanliness of work areas and vehicles
Adhering to all health and safety regulations
Supporting team members to ensure timely service delivery Requirements:
Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Good level of physical fitness
Reliable, punctual, and hardworking
Ability to work as part of a team Additional Information:
This role may involve early starts and weekend working depending on rota requirements
Full training and PPE will be provided
