Tradewind Recruitment are working in partnership with a specialist SEN provision in Kingswood to recruit Learning Facilitators to support pupils across both primary and secondary age ranges.
This is a highly rewarding opportunity to work in a supportive, therapeutic environment, helping children and young people with additional needs access education in a personalised and meaningful way.
The Role
As a Learning Facilitator, you will play a key role supporting pupils both inside and outside the classroom. You will work closely with teachers, therapists, and pastoral teams to deliver tailored support that meets each pupil's individual needs.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting learning activities across a range of subjects
Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils
Managing behaviour using a calm, consistent, trauma-informed approach
Supporting emotional regulation and social development
Adapting tasks to suit different learning styles and abilities
Assisting with personal care where requiredAbout the Pupils:
The provision supports primary and secondary aged pupils, all of whom have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
Pupils may present with:
Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
ADHD
Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
Moderate learning difficulties
Trauma backgrounds, which may impact behaviour and engagement
Some pupils may display behaviours that challenge, including:
Emotional dysregulation or disengagement
Difficulty with transitions or changes to routine
Sensory sensitivities
Verbal or occasionally physical behaviours when overwhelmed
A calm, patient, and resilient approach is essential.What We're Looking For
Experience working with children or young people with SEN (school, care, youth work, or alternative settings)
Understanding of behaviour management or trauma-informed practice
Confidence supporting both primary and secondary pupils
Resilient, empathetic, and adaptable
