Main Duties & Responsibilities

Assist with the preparation and maintenance of financial records, including general ledger entries.

Process and record financial transactions in accordance with established accounting procedures and policies.

Assist in the preparation of financial information by gathering and organising relevant data.

Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including assisting with the preparation of adjusting entries and financial statements.

Collaborate with internal departments to resolve accounting discrepancies, answer inquiries, and provide necessary financial information.

Assist in the maintenance and management of fixed asset records, including recording acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation.

Assist in the preparation of the company forecasts and budgets

Assist with internal and external audits.
Requirements:
Essential:
-
Part or Full AAT qualification, or higher
-
Good understanding of basic accounting principles and procedures
-
Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office applications, particularly Excel
-
Good attention to detail and accuracy
-
Good organisational and time management skills
-
Able to perform basic analytical review to identify trends and flag issues
-
Experience in solving problems
-
Willingness to adapt to new technologies and learn new accounting systems
-
Confident in collaborating with other areas of the business, to discuss financial matters relevant to the role.
Desirable:

Studying CIMA or similar professional qualification / Accounting degree graduate

Experience in a heavy manufacturing company would be an advantage

Working Hours:
Monday to Friday 36.25 hour week - Flexitime
