Desian Education are proud to be supporting a two-form entry primary school in St Helens that is held in high regard by it’s local community as they are looking to appoint a qualified and experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant. This is a full-time temporary contract with an immediate start available and will last the rest of the academic year.
Your new role
This is an extremely inclusive and welcoming school that require a full qualified teaching assistant to support pupils with SEN across the EYFS and KS1 classes on a timetabled basis. You will be supporting pupils with a variety of needs including ASD, non-verbal and LD, so the ability to take an pupil and EHCP-led approach as to ensure that each pupils needs are met is imperative. Your duties will include:

1:1 speech interventions including SALT, PECs and Makaton

Sensory stimuli and fine motor skills development

Use of phonics and letters and sounds to support speech

Implementing positive behaviour strategies
What you need to succeed
To be considered in your application you must:

Have relevant referenceable classroom experience

Experience supporting pupils with SEN (ASD and non-verbal is highly advantageous)

Be at least NVQ Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualified
