Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Brake Press Operative to join our production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating brake press machines to bend and form metal components according to technical drawings and specifications while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Working Hours
Monday – Thursday: 7:00am – 5:00pm
Friday: Overtime available (as required)
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate brake press machines to bend and shape metal components.
Interpret and work from engineering drawings and job specifications.
Select correct tooling and materials for each job.
Perform basic machine setup, adjustments, and routine maintenance.
Ensure finished components meet required quality standards and tolerances.
Carry out quality checks using measuring equipment (e.g., calipers, gauges).
Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with health and safety regulations.
Work efficiently to meet production targets and deadlines.
Report any faults, defects, or safety concerns to supervisors promptly.
Assist with other production tasks when required.
Skills & Experience
Previous experience operating a brake press or similar metal fabrication machinery.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Good attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Understanding of workshop safety procedures.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
