London Electrical Solutions are currently looking to recruit a Technical Support Engineer to support the expansion of our sister company, London Eco Solutions.
Summary:
Provide technical support and guidance to installers, engineers, and end users on domestic and light commercial gas and plumbing systems, primarily via phone and email, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient installation, commissioning, and fault diagnosis.
Key responsibilities

Answer technical enquiries from installers, service engineers, merchants and end users on gas appliances, heating systems, and plumbing installations.

Provide step‑by‑step fault‑finding and diagnostic support for boilers, cylinders, controls, pumps, valves and associated pipework.

Advise on correct installation, commissioning and servicing procedures in line with manufacturer instructions, Gas Safe, Building Regulations and relevant British Standards.

Review photos, drawings, schematics and wiring diagrams to identify issues and propose solutions.

Carry out surveys and produce quotes.

Ensure all advice given promotes safe working practices and compliance with current gas and plumbing regulations.
Skills and competencies

Strong technical understanding of domestic gas boilers, unvented and vented cylinders, central heating and hot‑water systems, and general plumbing installations.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, pipework schematics, and wiring diagrams.

Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical concepts clearly to people with varying levels of expertise.

Logical, methodical approach to fault finding and problem solving.

Good IT skills, comfortable using CRM/helpdesk systems, email, remote support tools and standard office software.

Customer‑focused attitude, calm under pressure, able to manage multiple enquiries and priorities.

High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and reporting.
Experience and qualifications

Time‑served background as a gas/heating engineer or plumber, or similar technical field role.

Current or recent Gas Safe registration and relevant ACS tickets (e.g. CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1) highly desirable.

NVQ/SVQ Level 2 or 3 (or equivalent) in Plumbing and Heating or Gas Utilisation preferred.

Experience with domestic and/or light commercial plant rooms, heating controls and system design is an advantage.

Previous office‑based or customer support experience beneficial but not essential. Woudl suit someone who wants to move away from the tools/ field work

Office‑based (with potential for some hybrid working depending on business needs).

Occasional travel to training events, head office, test sites or trade shows may be required
