Are you a Psychology graduate looking to gain hands-on experience working with children with additional needs before pursuing a career in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology or Child Mental Health?
A supportive and inclusive primary school in Haringey is seeking a motivated School-Based Assistant Psychologist to join their SEN support team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Psychology graduate to gain valuable experience supporting pupils with a range of needs including Autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties while working closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals.
The Role
• Supporting pupils with additional needs 1:1 and in small groups
• Helping pupils develop focus, emotional regulation and engagement with learning
• Supporting children with ASD, ADHD, SEMH and behavioural needs
• Assisting with the implementation of EHCP targets and behaviour strategies
• Encouraging positive behaviour and social interaction
• Supporting classroom learning activities and routines
• Working alongside the SENCO, teachers and therapists
This Role Is Ideal For
• Psychology graduates seeking experience before a Masters or Doctorate
• Individuals interested in careers in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Child Therapy or Speech & Language Therapy
• Graduates with an interest in child development, behaviour and SEN support
The Ideal Candidate
• Degree in Psychology or a related subject
• Passion for supporting children with additional needs
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Patient, resilient and proactive
• Experience working with children (desirable but not essential)
