Legal Secretary | Criminal & Civil Law | Bristol | Up to £35,000 DOE
An established Bristol practice is seeking a Legal Secretary to provide dedicated support to the Director within its busy Criminal and Civil Law department. This is a pivotal role offering close involvement in case progression and day-to-day operational support within a fast-moving environment.
The successful candidate will act as the Director’s primary support, managing diaries, coordinating court listings, preparing legal correspondence and documentation, and liaising with clients, counsel, courts and third parties. Responsibilities will also include audio typing, file management, billing assistance, document preparation and ensuring compliance with GDPR and internal procedures.
While prior experience in Criminal or Civil Law would be advantageous, it is not essential. The firm is open to candidates with strong administrative or PA experience who are highly organised, discreet and comfortable managing competing priorities.
Applicants should demonstrate excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail and confidence working independently. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, and audio typing skills would be beneficial.
In return, the firm offers a competitive salary, a supportive working culture and the opportunity to develop experience across both Criminal and Civil Law, with clear scope for progression.
