We’re working with a busy civil engineering contractor delivering infrastructure and groundwork schemes across the Midlands, and we’re looking for a Health & Safety Administrator to support their team on a freelance basis in Rugby.
This is a key compliance-focused role supporting site and management teams to keep projects audit-ready and fully aligned with company and accreditation standards.
The Role
You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of health & safety administration and accreditation compliance, including:

Maintaining all H&S accreditations and updating relevant platforms as required

Participating in site audits linked to accreditations

This function will operate under senior supervision, with support provided, but requires consistent management throughout the twelve-month cycle — particularly in advance of the peak submission period in December

Maintaining the internal platform and inputting all relevant data relating to:

Overseeing training that is due to expire, using internal modules and the Commodious platform, and undertaking the full renewal process

Preparing and issuing regular Toolbox Talks aligned with project-specific requirements (currently issued fortnightly)

Undertaking internal site health & safety audits to ensure readiness in relation to accreditation requirements

Assisting project teams with site investigations and root cause analysis following incidents

Maintaining accurate admin records relating to all the above

Liaising with administration and accounts where required

General H&S and document control support to site and project teams
What We’re Looking For

Previous experience in a Health & Safety Admin role within civil engineering or construction
-
Strong understanding of compliance, audits and accreditation processes

Experience using H&S management platforms (Vision, Commodious or similar desirable)

Excellent organisational and document control skills

Comfortable working in a fast-paced site environment

Strong IT skills (Excel, Word, document management systems)

Must be able to drive – occasional travel to local sites will be required

Proactive, methodical and detail-focused approach
