We are currently recruiting for a Security & Vetting Administrator to join a leading organisation within the Defence & Aerospace sector. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a highly regulated, security-focused environment supporting critical national infrastructure programmes.
This role will suit someone with strong administrative experience in security, vetting, compliance, or regulated environments who thrives in a structured and confidential setting.
The Role
You will support the delivery of site-based personnel security and vetting activities, ensuring compliance with government security standards and contractual obligations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Processing security clearance and BPSS applications
- Managing starters, movers and leavers vetting activities
- Maintaining secure records and vetting databases
- Staff pass, badge and vehicle pass administration
- Supporting visitor management processes
- Updating access control systems
- Handling change in circumstances and aftercare reporting
- Producing weekly and monthly KPI/security reports
- Supporting security induction delivery for new starters
- Acting as a key point of contact for vetting-related enquiries
You will be handling highly sensitive information, so discretion and confidentiality are essential.
About You
Essential:
- Experience in security vetting, personnel security, compliance, or regulated administration
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive data
- Confident IT skills and database experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to obtain (or already hold) UK Security Check (SC) clearance
- British nationality (due to clearance requirements)
Desirable:
- Previous experience within Defence, Aerospace, Government, or similar secure environments
- Knowledge of BPSS, UKSV processes, or List X requirements
- Experience working with access control systems
Working Pattern
- 37 hours per week
- 4.5-day week
- Standard business hours between 7am–7pm (agreed with manager)
- No regular travel required
