We are currently recruiting Behaviour Support Assistants to work within a dedicated SEMH provision in Stoke-on-Trent. These roles are available for immediate start and will run through to the end of the academic year.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are committed to supporting young people facing social, emotional and mental health challenges.
This Role Would Suit You If You Have:
Experience supporting children or young people with behavioural needs
A background in SEN, alternative provision, youth work, care, psychology or mentoring
Strong transferable skills from roles involving coaching, support work or pastoral care
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs
Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
Support the delivery of tailored learning plans
Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
Help create a consistent, structured and supportive classroom environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Be:
Calm, resilient and confident managing challenging behaviour
Empathetic and able to build rapport quickly
Proactive and adaptable in dynamic situations
Experienced in behaviour support, mental health or SEN (desirable)
In possession of a DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
