Glass Handler Operative
Responsible for the manual and machine-assisted processing of glass, ensuring high safety and quality standards.
Core Responsibilities:
Cutting and Processing: Operates machinery to cut glass, including laminated and float glass.
Quality Inspection: Inspecting glass for defects to ensure it meets strict quality standards. Alongside this, overseeing the heat treatment involving enclosed furnaces.
Machine Operation: Operates machinery for processing techniques such as heat treatment (tempering/toughening) and shaping. Setting of glass cutting machines.
Handling and Loading: Involves manual handling of glass, loading, and unloading from production lines and racks. As well as movement of large sections of glass to appropriate station.
Finishing Touches: Shrink wrapping the final product and moving for delivery.
Production Monitoring: Working individually and as a team to meet production targets.
Working Conditions:
Physical Demand: The job involves standing for long periods, repetitive tasks, and heavy lifting.
Safety Focus: Operatives must adhere strictly to health and safety procedures, often working in a high-noise, industrial environment.
Environment: The role involves working in a plant/factory setting.
Requirements:
Pass a pre-employment drugs and alcohol test
Must be comfortable standing for long periods and performing repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Assignment Details:
Working Week: Monday to Friday
Working Hours: 06:00am – 2:00pm | 2:00pm – 10:00pm
Hourly Rate: £12.50ph - £15.00ph (Based on previous employment history)
Duration: Temp to Perm (After 12 weeks)
