Non-Ferrous Operative
Location: Stourbridge, West Midlands
Pay: £13.00 – £13.50 per hour
Hours: Full-time
Contract: Temp to Perm (via GL2 Recruitment)
About the Company
We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established, family-run scrap metal business based in Stourbridge. Known for their friendly team and strong reputation in the industry, they’re now looking for an experienced Non-Ferrous Operative to join their yard.
The Role
As a Non-Ferrous Operative, you’ll play a key role in ensuring materials are accurately identified, graded, and processed. This is a hands-on position suited to someone with solid industry knowledge and confidence working in a fast-paced yard environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately grade all types of non-ferrous metals
- Weigh materials using small scales
- Operate FLT (Forklift) safely – FLT licence essential
- Assist with crane operations (crane licence beneficial but not essential)
- Support general yard duties and maintain a tidy working environment
- Work closely with the team to ensure smooth yard operations
Requirements:
- Strong, proven knowledge of non-ferrous grades
- Experience in scrap metal or recycling environments
- Valid FLT licence
- Crane licence is an advantage
- Reliable, hardworking, and able to work independently
