Part Time Special Educational Needs (SEN) Learning Support Assistant (LSA) job in Winchester
This school is looking for a patient and dedicated Special Education Needs (SEN) Learning Support Assistant to join their team. As a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) you will work with a supportive team under the direction of the SENCo and class teacher.
As an LSA you will be working 1:1 with a pupils in EYFS/ Key Stage 1 who have social communication and social, emotional and mental health needs. You will be providing tailored support to help them access learning, develop independence, and thrive in a nurturing environment.
As a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) you will ideally have had experience of working with children with special educational needs including social communication needs and social, emotional and mental health needs. Previous experience of Alternative Communication Systems such as PECS and TOBIS and experience and understanding of Intensive Interaction and Attention Autism is preferred but not essential.
You will be able to work effectively as part of a team and build positive relationships with pupils and staff. You will need to be reliable, flexible, and committed to supporting the school's inclusive ethos.

Team Teach Trained
Experience of delivering speech and language interventions
An interest in singing and musicAs an LSA you will meet and greet the child to ensure that transition from home to school is positive, make them feel safe, happy and cared for at school, whilst providing a calm, structured environment.
This exciting opportunity is available on a long-term basis starting ASAP. The school are actively looking to recruit for the job permanently and would consider this on a temporary to permanent basis. The pupil would you would be supporting is currently in afternoons - this role would be suitable for someone looking for afternoons only (15 hours per week) but full days can be accommodated as well.
