A well established law firm in Northamptonshire is seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join their busy Private Client team. This is a key role within the department, providing high quality secretarial and administrative support to Fee Earners and ensuring the smooth running of client matters.
🎯 Key Responsibilities
Preparing correspondence and legal documents including Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney using audio typing and word processing.
Managing file opening, closing, storage, and archiving in line with firm procedures.
Handling daily filing and general file management to support the progression of client matters.
Preparing outgoing mail and enclosures for dispatch.
Managing copying and document production as required.
Coordinating diary management including booking and rearranging meetings, setting reminders for key deadlines, and supporting excellent client care.
Liaising professionally with clients, solicitors, probate offices, banks, and other third parties on behalf of Fee Earners.
Providing support to other secretaries and assisting with wider administrative duties when capacity allows.
Handling incoming calls in a professional manner, transferring where appropriate and taking accurate messages.
Carrying out additional secretarial and administrative tasks as required by the department.🔍 What We're Looking For
Previous legal secretarial experience, ideally within a Private Client team.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and multitask effectively.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A proactive and flexible approach, including willingness to provide holiday cover and occasional reception support.
