About the Role
They are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Veneer Production Operative to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting and processing veneer sheets, supporting the production team, and ensuring all work meets the highest quality standards. This role also involves adhering to health and safety standards, and maintaining accurate production records.
Key Responsibilities
Record and track all veneer sheets entering the factory
Inspect delivered veneer for correct type, colour, grain, and quality; return any substandard materials immediately
Dispose of defective or unacceptable panels safely
Ensure veneering work is completed to the highest standard
Check sheets for knots, wormholes, cracks, un-sanded areas, or other defects
Support joiners and other team members in producing high-quality products
Read and interpret drawings to meet client specifications
Follow instructions from the production manager or designated management representative
Complete machinery checklists and report maintenance requirements
Conduct periodic stock takes and maintain accurate records
Log hours worked and materials used per project in the ERP system
Complete ad-hoc tasks as required by line managementAbout You
Experience in veneer handling or woodworking is preferred
Ability to read and interpret engineering or production drawings
Knowledge of health and safety requirements in a production environment
Strong attention to detail and quality-focused
Team player with good communication and mentoring skills
