Role Summary
The main purpose of the role is to support the Online Learning Team with course development and course maintenance, as well as essential team administration. The Postholder will report directly to the Online Learning Manager.
The post holder will need a creative and ‘can-do’ approach, as well as a willingness to learn and follow NEC’s editorial processes relating to print and digital publishing.
This staff role forms an essential part of the Online Learning Team, as they work together to ensure that the courses on (email address removed) platform are maintained to a high quality and continue to be updated and improved, and new courses are developed to a high standard. The role will also assist in ensuring that the information available to staff, students and potential customers relating to courses is maintained and updated to be of the highest quality and accuracy.
Job Responsibilities

Edit and update course material in response to minor issues identified by Student Support, students and tutors to continually maintain and improve the quality of course resources.

Support the Online Learning Team with major course maintenance, revisions and improvement projects.

Editing and proofreading tasks as required.

Develop video content for learning materials.

Update and maintain internal editorial documentation, including course briefing documents.

Edit and update external course information, e.g. on the website, course samples and other promotional materials.

Support the Online Learning team with monitoring how students and tutors respond to new course material, and contribute ideas for continual improvement.

Update print products where required.
Knowledge/Experience required

Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills (qualification desirable).

Meticulous attention to detail.

Excellent digital skills.

Excellent administration and organisation skills.

Experience with Microsoft Office, Google Docs and Sheets, Adobe Acrobat Pro.

Video editing skills.

Experience with elearning platforms desirable, preferably Moodle.

Genuine interest in education.

Excellent communication and presentation skills - both written and verbal.

Proactive approach.

Good time management.

IT literate and willing to learn new systems.
Working Arrangements
Hybrid Working: The employee will work one day per week office-based, with the remaining working days home-based.
12 month Fixed Term Contract (temp to perm): Part-time -21 hours per week
