Refuse Driver (Class 2) – Newport
Location: Docks Way, Newport, NP20 2NS
Start Date: 23/02
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday–Friday
Contract: 9 month + ongoing
Pay: £13.26 per hour PAYE / £17.10 Umbrella
We’re recruiting for an experienced Class 2 Refuse Driver to join the waste and recycling team in Newport. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys outdoor work, steady hours, and being part of a reliable local authority team.
Key Responsibilities

Driving a Class 2 refuse vehicle on scheduled collection routes

Supporting the crew with waste and recycling collections when required

Ensuring safe, compliant driving at all times

Completing daily vehicle checks and reporting any issues

Representing the service professionally within the community
Requirements

Valid Class 2 (Category C) licence

CPC and Digi Card

Previous refuse or local authority experience is beneficial but not essential

Good reliability and a positive, team‑focused attitude
