Multi-Trade Operative – Peckham
Salary: £38,000 per annum

We are currently recruiting an experienced Multi-Trade Operative to join a responsive repairs and maintenance team working across social housing properties in and around the Peckham area.
This is a permanent, multi-skilled role requiring a core trade background in Carpentry or Plumbing, supported by a broad range of additional skills to ensure a high first-time fix rate.

Key Responsibilities
Carry out multi-trade repairs and maintenance in occupied and void properties
Deliver work to a consistently high standard
Self-manage workload and check quality of own work
Complete all job records and administrative tasks accurately using a PDA system
Communicate effectively with tenants, colleagues, and other trades
Ensure all works comply with Health & Safety requirements
Identify additional works, recharge items, or safeguarding concerns and report accordingly
Work in line with risk assessments, training, and company procedures
Core Trade Requirement
Hold a recognised base trade qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2 or equivalent), or
Have demonstrable experience in Carpentry or Plumbing, plus additional multi-trade skills
Additional Skills (any combination of the below) Painting & Decorating
Patch plaster repairs and surface preparation
Wall preparation, lining paper, and painting
Plastering
Patch repairs, plasterboarding, scrimming, skimming, and rendering
Ceramic Tiling
Wall and floor tiling, including preparation, fixing, grouting, and cutting
Glazing / UPVC
Single pane glazing and basic double-glazing repairs
Replacement of handles, hinges, and seals
Groundworks
Fencing repairs and renewals
Brickwork and small wall repairs
Manhole repairs and renewals
Essential Skills & Experience
Good standard of literacy and numeracy
Basic IT skills and ability to use PDA systems
Strong customer service and communication skills
Reliable, punctual, and thorough approach to work
Excellent understanding of Health & Safety
Ability to meet deadlines and performance targets
Full, clean UK driving licence
Desirable Experience
Previous experience working in social housing
Housing or building maintenance knowledge
Ability to assess jobs and implement effective repair solutions
